When small children fill a home with laughter, when your career is still budding, and when the new house you’ve envisioned is crying out for a personal touch, a woman often loses sight of herself and her own feelings. The daily grind of responsibilities, nurturing loved ones, and climbing the career ladder consumes every moment, pushing her inner self deep into the background, waiting for a "someday" that feels increasingly distant.

Oddly enough, I find gratitude in my transition into menopause, which has come more as an emotional and psychological shift than as merely physical

changes. With 32 symptoms defined by science, the emotional toll resonates deeply. Anxiety, mood swings, and insomnia become unwelcome companions, while fatigue blankets the days. The sense of self fades, feelings of confusion and loss creeping in, turning life into a whirlwind of emotional highs and lows that feel reminiscent of my tumultuous teenage years.

Embrace your emotions!
Embrace your emotions!

Silencing these emotions, out of fear or obligation, only heightens the inner turmoil. I would hold everything in—until suddenly it spilled out in a flood I couldn’t control. My reactions, often justified, felt disproportionate to the triggers that set them off, leading to twice changing jobs in three years and leaving my self-esteem in tatters. Exhausted, misunderstood, and utterly lonely, I yearned for connection, for the reassurance that the vibrant woman I used to be still lingered somewhere beneath it all.
